Pastor of Men




Full-time position - Sun-Fri (Saturday off) – 50-60hrs. a week (some comp days for weekend events)

Salary Range: $95,000 +full medical/dental; 4 weeks vacation and 2 weeks study leave, book and other allowance, 5% of salary into retirement account.

Additionally, reimbursable allowances: auto, books, continuing education, and business expenses

Requirements: B.A, Seminary or equivalent very desirable, 5+ years full time ministry experience 


Profile of the person seeking:

Gifted speaker and Bible teacher, visionary, extravert, team player, self-starter who takes initiative, passionate about saving the unsaved, understands church growth strategies, knowledge and experience in small group ministry. Has strong recruiting skills and team management skills.


Overview:

COMPASS has a main campus with a 1,500 seat worship center and 2 satellite campuses. We are non-denominational (under the umbrella of ECO), an orthodox, Bible believing, Jesus-centered people. See our Statement of Faith and dynamic worship on our website. We are a regional, high-impact church with TV & radio ministries that draw from a wide geographical area. And very importantly most of staff is 15+ years here and loves working with everyone else. Staff meetings are fun. We have a dynamic worship ministry at 3 locations. This is a new position. We need a pastor who is passionate about Evangelism and discipling men through small groups, larger gatherings, retreats to become godly men and spiritual leaders of their families.


Responsibilities:

  • Grow our small group ministry to 1000 men in Life Groups.
  • Write the weekly studies for the small groups from the Sunday sermons.
  • Envision and lead 'men's gatherings' which are a stepping stone into small group study and to which men would invite their unchurched friends.
  • An out-of-the-office guy who spends time at meals connecting men and building relationships.
  • Gifted at preaching and able to take the pulpit on Sundays the Sr. Pastor is away.
  • Eventually be part of the 'core staff' for church growth strategy.
  • Re-establish our annual men’s retreat
  • Create a team to help you expand the ministry
  • Lead/Train men’s Life Group leaders 
  • Hospital calling as needed.
  • Rotate leading Sunday night service.
